The State Department offers up to $25,000 per project to support alumni initiatives that promote shared values and innovative solutions to global challenges. The competition provides small grants to teams of past and current participants of U.S. government-funded exchange programs to carry out public service projects that utilize skills and knowledge they have gained through their exchange experiences.

Competition for the 2013 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) is now open!
How to enter:

Alumni must be members of the International Exchange Alumni website and must form teams of at least ten to propose projects that address one of ten project categories:

•   Empowering Women
•   Outreach to Underserved Communities
•   Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment
•   Expanded Access to Education
•   Environmental Protection
•   Government Transparency
•   Freedom of Expression
•   Conflict Resolution
•   Citizen Security
•   Promoting Civil Society

 Timeline:

•   Alumni have from April 24 to May 12, 2013 to post their project idea and build a team of at least 10 exchange program alumni.

•   Projects selected for the finalist phase will be announced on International Exchange Alumni on May 27, 2013.

•   From May 27 to June 16, 2013, finalist teams will refine their proposals and International Exchange Alumni members may vote on their favorite projects.
